A graduate of Sydney’s Whitehouse Institute of Design and the acclaimed, Accademia Italiana Arte Della Moda Design Institute in Florence, Italy where Daniel attained his Masters in Design.
Whilst living in Italy, Daniel honed his skills working with well-known design houses in Europe and the United Kingdom before moving back to Sydney in 2006. That same year, Daniel launched his namesake label at Australian Rosemount Fashion Week. The young designers debut collection was received with wide acclaim and cemented the DANIEL AVAKIAN label as one to watch, further affirmed with his 2008 Fashion Week show. After a few years working on his high-end label, Daniel decided to take on other projects and placed his namesake label on the market.
Over five years Daniel focused on other ventures and businesses to further broaden his experiences. Working with high-end retailers and large fashion houses in private label development and production. Daniel developed a keen understanding of the shopping habits of the modern woman and with his ever present love of design, made the decision to bring back the DANIEL AVAKIAN ready to wear label in 2014 getting the attention of Australian department store Myer and a variety of multi-brand boutiques who stocked the brands collections.
DANIEL AVAKIAN is a go-to brand for celebrities, models, bloggers and fashion lovers in the know looking for that tailored, refined wardrobe staple and statement. Celebrities and entertainers that have supported the brand include Delta Goodrem, Jennifer Hawkins, Nikki Phillips, Mel B, Charlie Sheen, Miss Universe, Renee Ayris, actor Andrew J Morley and US based band Human Nature and many key social influencers. A new generation has discovered the DANIEL AVAKIAN brand and keeps coming back for more.
However Daniel admits his true creative passion lies in customization of his designs and in 2017 the designer embarked on developing a new concept set to disrupt the traditional distribution channels and bring his custom designs to the global market. Rumours have it that the designer’s new concept is set to launch from April 2020 alongside his robust strategic supply partners.
